CLASSIC TOUR

Our Classic Tour is an introduction to our whisky-making process. Perfect for the whisky-curious, those taking their first distillery tour, or those with a packed schedule on Islay. Families and people of all ages are welcome on this tour.
Begin in the Visitor Centre before heading out onto the farm. Take a dram on the malt floor whilst we demonstrate how we manage our barley and peat. In the tunroom and stillhouse, we explain how our malted barley is turned into new-make spirit. Back in the Visitor Centre, we highlight the importance of cask maturation over a final dram.
A tasting glass is included in the price. Driver’s drams are available on request. Valid ID must be provided when requested.
Bookable spaces are available for children 8+ years, subject to a small admission fee. Under 8’s go free on the ‘Classic Tour’. Please contact us to let us know if there will be children attending.
Parents and Guardians MUST be responsible for their children at all times. The tour involves a set of stairs. Buggies are not permitted. Please wear sensible shoes for this tour – no sandals or flip flops.
Roving Tour
Mar – Oct / Mon & Weds @ 13:15, Tues & Thurs @ 14:45 Adults: £30 1 Hour 30 Mins
Our Roving Tour is an in-depth look at our whisky-making process. This experience is perfect for whisky enthusiasts, those who have visited distilleries before, or those with a relaxed schedule on Islay. Over 18’ only on this experience.
Begin in our spacious Visitor Centre, before venturing onto the farm. This tour visits all key areas within the production process. We explain why the traditional practices of our process matter so much. There is the opportunity to take 3 drams whilst you tour the site, before heading over to Warehouse 2 for something special.

Warehouse Tasting
Mar - Oct / Daily @ 11:15 (& 15:00 during Silent Season) Adults: £45 1 Hour
A new experience for 2026. This tasting is perfect for small whisky groups, those who enjoy whisky straight from the cask, or those who look to create unforgettable moments on Islay. We invite you into one of our warehouses, where you’ll draw 3 drams directly from casks that have been hand-selected by our distillery manager Robin Bignal. Warehouse 2 is a dunnage-style warehouse that stores some of our more experimental casks.

100% Islay Experience
Mar - Oct / Sunday @ 13:30 Adults: £65 2 Hours
A new experience for 2026. Our 100% Islay Experience focuses solely on the whisky made from our own barley grown here, at Rockside Farm. This experience is perfect for the die-hard Kilchoman fan. Over 18’ only on this experience.
This event includes a tour of the distillery with an exploration of barley varieties and farming practices. Analyse flavour variation in the stillhouse by understanding cut points in the spirit run. Back in the Visitor Centre, taste a variety of 100% Islay whiskies from our archive. A 100ml bottle of 100% Islay whisky, drawn from a cask selected exclusively for this experience, is available for you to take home.

Rockside Barley Experience
19th July - 12th August / Sun - Tue Adults: £18 1 Hour 30 Mins
A new experience for Silent Season 2026. Our Rockside Barley Experience focuses solely on the barley grown here, at Rockside Farm and the whisky expressions we make with it. This experience is perfect for those Kilchoman fan’s looking to learn more about the barley and why it is so important to us at the Distillery. Over 18’ only on this experience.
This event is taking place during our distillery silent season and so please be aware that the full tour route will not be available or visited during this experience. The experience includes a visit to the malt floor where we will explore our barley varieties, process of malting and why we have chosen them for our 100% Islay whiskies. We will discuss the flavour variation that the still house brings to the process and will then visit Warehouse 2 where the maturation and cask type plays its part in the process. You will experience drams along the way that help to reflect and showcase the flavours and experience.

Rockside Tasting
19th July - 12th August / Wed & Thur Adults: £50 1 Hour 30 Mins
A new experience for Silent Season 2026. Our Rockside Tasting Experience is like no other and takes you on a sensory tour of our 100% Islay barley and expressions. The tasting experience is held in the visitor centre and will focus on the barley grown at Rockside Farm and the whisky expressions we make with it. This experience will help our customers explore the smells, taste and feel of the process that makes the 100% Islay expressions so unique. Over 18’ only on this experience and the experience is fully accessible for wheelchairs.
Please be aware that the production route will not be visited during this experience, we will bring the smells and tastes to you in the visitor centre. The experience includes a sensory exploration looking at barley varieties, process of malting and the flavour profiles we are looking for in our 100% Islay whiskies. We will discuss the flavour variation that the still house brings to the process with new make spirit and the influence that Warehouse 2 brings with the selection and quality of casks and the maturation journey. You will taste drams that will help us explore the tasting wheel and flavour profiles that we have created using our own barley.

Sunday to Thursday: 09:30 – 17:00
Alongside our range of bookable experiences, our Visitor Centre Cafe is open Sunday to Thursday. We serve freshly made lunches, barista style coffee and home-baked cakes. We have comfy sofas available for a cosy catch up, or booths available for large groups at lunch. Coffee is available from 09:45, with our lunch service beginning at 12:00. Last food orders are taken at 14:15 (Nov – Feb) and 15:15 (Mar – Oct). Lunch bookings are encouraged as we can be extremely busy between Mar – Oct.
