With each passing week our spirit and whisky stocks increase , this poses us some problems as anyone who has visited will know our duty -free warehouse is not the biggest.
We have been storing some stock at Bruichladdich Distillery and we are now happy to announce that we have formed a similar agreement with Bowmore Distillery .
We despatched our first load for storage at Bowmore this week and hope to keep up this arrangement until we can increase our own storage capacity. This will hopefully be early next year.
This is just another example of the great working relationships which exist between the distillers of Islay , as the newest Islay Distillery we are grateful to our friends at Bruichladdich and Bowmore for their help .
Here are some useful web -sites which co-incidentally have comment on Kilchoman single malt .

Hi ,
Please check this link for a light - hearted look at whisky making from a guest who came to Kilchoman sceptical and left almost convinced.

If you have not been to Kilchoman this will give you a little sight of who we are and what we do without getting all serious and uptight about it.
A nice bit of chat about the Summer Release from these sartorially splendid chaps at Caskstrength.
Choman have a look.

Above photographs were taken during Anthonys recent trip to Taiwan and Japan.
Top photograph is with the owners of Sun Favourite who are the importers and distributors of Kilchoman Single Islay Malt in Taiwan.
Photo below shows Anthony hard at work on the Kilchoman stand at Whisky Live in Taiwan . Anthony also visited a large number of shops which stock Kilchoman to lend support to the people who work so hard for us in that part of the world.

A couple of well - known Islay distillers pictured in one of the sunnier locations which they frequent at this time of year (Taiwan) .
Note the winter plumage which they adopt when in foreign parts , in the background is Billy Walker of Benriach who seems to be saying , where can I get some fancy gear like the Islay guys?

Recently harvested barley for Kilchoman Distillery being loaded at Rockside Farm , the barley will now be taken to Octofad Farm for drying and storage.
This barley will then be returned to the distillery over the next year for malting and production of Kilchoman 100% Islay Whisky.

A birthday at Kilchoman Distillery on 10th September . On this occasion Robin was the birthday boy and is pictured with workmates about to tuck in to a chocolate birthday cake freshly baked by Rebecca in the kitchen.
Left to right Gavin who looks like he is dying to get at the cake, Robin , Tony , Rebecca and Peter.
Tony our resident artist is holding a birthday card made for Robin that morning , unfortunately is does not come out too well in the photo. possibly just as well.

On Friday 10th September we had a visit from a Belgian film crew who were shooting footage for a film to be made of Islay and its famous whisky distilleries.
The film will be made up by shooting different parts of the whisky - making process at different distilleries and then linking up the parts together with general footage of Islay to showcase the island and its whisky to best advantage.
At Kilchoman the crew concentrated mostly on floor - malting , they are shown above with an overhead camera taking shots of the ripening barley fields surrounding the distillery.
During his recent visit to Taiwan Anthony visited the Kavalan Distillery .
Pictured here are L to R - Eric from the Taiwan Whisky Society , Anthony of Kilchoman, Euan Mitchell of Isle of Arran Distillers, David Croll of Whisk -e who are importers of Kilchoman to Japan , Ichiro Akuto of Chichibu Distillery Japan and his chairman.

Anthony has just returned from an extensive tasting tour covering a large part of northern and central Germany , this tour was done in conjunction with our German importer Alba Imports.
During the tour tastings were hosted for 300 plus whisky fans in a variety of locations with vaying size of groups.
During the tasting tour a single -cask bottling exclusive to Alba imports was on sale and this proved very popular with the attendees.
Anthony , John and Laura will be attending several whisky events in various countries over the winter period including Whisky Live -Paris , Spirits in the Sky -Leuven ,Leiden Whisky festival and the Whisky Ships - Zurich.
We are pleased to announce that in the Icons of Whisky awards recently announced by Whisky Magazine Kilchoman Distillery has been "Highly Commended".
This was in the category of "Whisky Distiller of the Year" and we are really pleased to have effectively been placed second to a giant of the drinks world like William Grants Ltd .
It looks like Kilchoman continues to more than punch its weight in some very exalted company and as the distillery develops we would hope to achieve even more success.
