For all of the worried Kilchoman lovers out there who have being thinking of Islay having its longest spell of dry weather for many years , the worries are over !!
We have had a nice little bit of rain over the last couple of weeks and as you can see from the picture of our dam taken this morning by MD Anthony Wills normal service is resumed. Its all systems go now to ensure that stocks of Kilchoman Single Malt are replenished.
A view of barley ripening nicely on Islay for Kilchoman Single Malt production . With harvest fast - approaching we are planning our winter production .
Kilchoman Malt continues to grow in popularity , the forthcoming Summer Release will be exported to 22 overseas markets . With this in mind we are happy to see plenty of water and ripening barley , all we need now are a few extra hours in the day to get everything done.
Regards from all at Kilchoman to our many friends out there , you know who you are .
Amid all the current news at Kilchoman Distillery we have also had a piece of news which marks a big change at the distillery. Malcolm Rennie who has been here since the business begun has decided to move on to pastures new.
Malcolm is taking up a post which will involve the building of a new distillery in Annan in the Scottish borders called Annandale . His employer there will be David Thompson who attended Kilchoman Distillery on work experience a few years back.
All good wishes from the distillery owners and staff go with Malcolm and we wish him success in his new venture , we hope to be able to introduce you to a new member of staff in the very near future.
